Rulings and Supplementary Material
This is where I'll be putting any material that I write up for the game, as well as compiling any house rules. I'm trying to not house rule Stars Without Number into oblivion without running it first and seeing how it plays.
Homebrew materials
Focus: Alien, MurnouYou are part of a race of human-looking aliens called the Murnou. While friendly enough, they have a reputation for being dour and gloomy, conspicuously resembling the vampires of old Terran myth; tall, pale, and gangly, and nigh-universally possessing mental powers. Fashion and architecture are tall and gothic, severe widows peaks and baldness are common and accepted among them. All of their senses are also much sharper than those of most humans.
Level 1: Gain Notice as a bonus skill. All Murnou must be Psychics or Partial Psychic Adventurers, and their maximum Effort is increased by 1.
Focus: Alien, [Name Pending but insectoid aliens lmao god save me]You are part of a race of large insectoid aliens, and are incredibly resilient as a result. Although not unfriendly, uneducated humans may find you offputting for your alien visage and demeanor. Body types range from broad, barrel-chested beetlefolk, to tall and lanky individuals that resemble praying mantises, and anywhere in between. They are largely matriarchal, and the males tend to stand around a foot shorter, and while regarded among their people as physically weaker, this is not measurably true. [NAME PENDING LMAO] can modulate their mandibles to effectively create the sounds of human speech, though some have trouble with certain letters due to a lack of lips. While you do have a second smaller set of arms, they are too weak to grasp most things.
Level 1: You may seal your exoskeleton to protect yourself from hostile environments, from smoke and poisonous gas (though not corrosives) to the cold vacuum of space; in effect, you never require a space suit, and can maintain this for up to six hours. Furthermore, your base Armor Class is 15 + half your level rounded up even without any armor due to your skin being hard chitin, although any heavier armor will likely need to be custom made.
House rules:
- Initiative only gets rolled once at the start of combat, not once at the beginning of every round. Too much damn bookkeeping
- [Insert custom space combat pdf here it's a good thing I'm not planning on running any space combat right meow]
